The dead pigeon in my living room.
Few days ago saw a pigeon on my balcony. This is not a usual sight as pigeon don't normally sit there on someone's balcony. Thought that the pigeon is sick but don't have time to check on it.
2 days later, started to detect some stench and ask my housemate about it. We sense that it came from one corner of our house but dunno where.
After another day, still there...so determine to find out the source of the smell.
By the time discovered...OMG,really its the pigeon i saw that day...underneath a pillow forming a 'cave'.It was decomposing but no maggots yet. I looked at my friend and my friend looked at me.."can you prepare a funeral for it..pls..pls?" asked my friend.
Apa lagi...
Went to the sundry shop to find a dust collector (lap sap cham)-the one you sweep the floor with..and purchased it. Wrap a towel around my nose and shove the pigeon into it and throw it from 8th floor of my condo. The pigeon landed on the roof of M floor below. Disaster...
Job done. A 'perfect' funeral for a pigeon.
Animals do find their way to die sometimes.....in your living room.

In Loving Memory Of Pigeon...
Talk about handling corpses, this is the Dr who handled Teoh Beng Hocks case..Tips to be able to handle corpses is don't cover ur nose when handling one.80% homicide, 20% suicide.

A rainy and fruitful day planting trees in Kuala Selangor
It was rainy when we reached Kuala Selangor at the Raja Musa Forest Reserve. We had earlier gathered at A&W and the trip took us nearly an hour and a half to get there. The event were organised by an NGO organisation ,YAWA which contribute about 85,000 trees in conjuction with it' founder's 85th birthday.

Others showed up were the ECO warriors, the founder of ECO warrior-Matthias Gebbler(famous for traveling around the world to plant trees hence named the 'green finger'),YAWA members, coming in a bus and personal transport amounting about 100 person altogether.

A friend was driving and we get to know a cute girl name Angel who studies Environmental health in Sunway Monash.
The rain, cold temperature, wet environment did not stopped us from getting into the swamp area to start planting trees. we took an open jip up to the peat forest. It was raining and we had umbrella over our head as we ride on.
After that we were briefed and shortly after the opening ceremony took place.
We set out in group of 15 headed by our 'leader',the cangkul man who dug a hole in each stick put into place,a distance from one another. Then we have the bakul man who carries plants inside a basket. Each basket can fit in about 8-10 plants. Each of us carries a plant or two by hand as well.

On the way we knew Mariko ,a japanese lady who married a local, who are active in this kinda activity. We were told earlier lucky that it is not a sunny day as the methane gas from the swamp will rise up and it is not healthy should we inhale it. That's why it is so essential to plant trees to rid of these gasses and prevent from further pollution to the soil.

All in all we were provided 500 trees and all finish within 2 hours. On the quality of our planting that is another matter. The members later had a double check to ensure the plants had enough soil to ensure it's survial.
We later took the jip ride back through the much fun 1km bumpy ride back to the entrance of the swamp. With us, glad to know Juliet from Canada who had stayed in Malaysia for 6 years. Like us, it had been her first experience.
The anti-mosquito plant we carry back.

After all this experience , we were named the qualified "farmers" :)

Yasmin Ahmad 15 Malaysia Chocolate
The making...
Was asked to avail myself on 15thSept for a 15 Malaysia showcase in SS2. On the 15th found myself in the Rocket Restaurant, a restaurant sets up by former ROCK cafe manager, Troy, who dedicate 10% of it's income to support DAP party. Viewed all the 15 Malaysia short movies. After viewing the movies, an Q & A with Linus Chung (producer of "the house") on what we think about the 15 Malaysia.
From Linus Chung (a friend of Yasmin) on working back stage with Yasmin...
In the ending of 'the house' ,Yasmin went and sit down to comforts the boy, for the scene, Linus asked Yasmin to come up with the script (after all he thought, who is he to give Yasmin a script right?)..
Instead Yasmin asked to be given a script for the role.Despite insistent the director asked Yasmin to come up with her own.So she said "sure a, sure a..you allow me my own script ya..ok ,she took out a cigarette, lit it up and said..(acting the scene)
Hey, life is tough ya..have a fag..(handing the cigerette to the boy)"
The producer gave in and gave Yasmin a script, such is the happy moments working with Yasmin.
Behind the story of house:
The producer was touched by the story of people who are homeless when their house is demolished during relocation plans. The kids who destroyed the boy's house represent those who are in power. The movie were not made in conjunction of " the Buah Pala insident" ,shows that such incidents have been going on for quite some time.
The budget to produce 15 Malaysia is 0 as everything is being financed through pure volunteering.
